Why We Do What We Do – Worship Jesus

True worship is an expression of love. The value of our worship is determined by the sincerity of the worshipper, taking priority over the method and ability of how we worship. Our job as the worship team is to lead the body of Christ into corporate worship. So it is also our job as a team to be prepared to do so, but at the same time be ready to go in any direction that Holy Spirit leads us. We enjoy being prepared coming to worship with a plan, but more importantly, we enjoy being lead by Holy Sprit in the way He wants to go. We as a team enjoy worshiping with music as one and could not do it without Jesus being at the center of it all.

One of our core values at Freedom is extravagant praise and worship, therefore worship plays a central role in our services. We believe in worshipping God in Spirit and in truth, so we allow liberty in worship, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty! We employ joyful singing, dancing, shouting, the waving of flags and banners, clapping and musical instruments just as King David did before the Lord of Hosts.

 2. Review history, primarily prophetic

  a. Why we are who we are

    1. God spoke about a lot of things.  We walked through a lot of it and are who we are because of it.

  2. We are still guided by a lot of what was spoken.

  3. You can find these words in the worship team website.

b. This is a summary of a lot of words spoken over a lot of years.

  1. Pat Holloran 2/11 We should be singing our own songs and stressed purity in the platform.

  • This plays into our vision to express the sound/voice/DNA of FCC.

  2.  Sharon Otero and others, intimacy and community often brought up.  We encourage  this through attending practices, social events, and one on one times together.

  3.  Paying attention to our walk with God, increased holiness.  Romans 15:5-6

  • One voice – 10,000 to flight, again, going back to unity.

We encourage you to write songs, and will be of assistance in that as much as possible.  9:10 set is a great place for songs to be stirred!

There is a lot of talk of purity and holiness.

-Process

  • There are songs we sing that were a result of someone not being in a good place, then walking through that situation and a song coming from that same process.
  • *

-It is about your relationship with Christ

  • Walking through a process does not mean habitual sin. This is you screwing up, repenting, facing the consequences and accountability, and getting close to others to strengthen your walk. No where in this process is distancing yourself from the team or going into a “I’m a failure” downward spiral. We as a team are here for each other, we have walked through a lot over the last 17 years I have lead this team and we will continue to be there for each other in the future, regardless of what happens.

-We have walked through a lot finding understanding in this, and really want us to walk through life together, whatever may come. No one is perfect,  no sin is worse than another.

  • Different sins have different consequences and we get to pick zero of them. Some sins are more obvious than others, but it does not rate the “severity” of the sin. 1 John 3:15

-We can cover each other, a strong team can mentor the younger (in age and spiritual level)  and raise up the next generation.

C. Is everyone in the website?

Please let jeremy know if you are not able to sign into the website.  This is an incredibly useful tool to share sets, music, and leadership occasionally will share something on their heart.
