As discussed in our team meeting, we will be starting our monthly fast as a team this month. As you know, FCC has a monthly 3 day fast the first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. As a worship team, we will be utilizing the first Monday of each month to fast and pray for the worship team ministry. So, tomorrow is our fast day. You can fast in whatever way you desire, but we do ask that you please participate. For those of you who are new to fasting and may need some guidance for prayer targets, here are some scriptures you can read and pray forth for the team. You can develop this prayer as you go. The more you read the verses the more you will gain revelation. The more revelation you gain, the more you will know how to effectively pray out the verse for our team.
James 4:8, “Come close to God and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” NLT
Pray that our worship team members would have a strong desire to have clean hands and a pure heart. Pray that our desire would be for God and that we would want nothing more than to come close to God and hear his voice and his heart for our church and our county. Pray that our loyalty will be to God and God alone.
Exodus 33:9-11, “As he went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and hover at its entrance while the Lord spoke with Moses. When the people saw the cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, they would stand and bow down in front of their own tents. Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” NLT
Pray for face to face encounters with God. You can pray for yourself, for the members of our team, and for our church body. We want to be in the presence of God! Pray that everyone would enter in. That not one member would be left on the outside. But, that each of us would be seeking the face of God. Pray that we would hear the voice of God daily. That we would be tuned in to Him and listening for what He would desire to say to us.
A final verse regarding fasting: Matthew 6:16, “and when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get.” We do not fast to impress other people. We fast because we want more of God!
Feel free to comment here with any scripture verses or encouraging words for our team during the fast or after the fast.
Love you all!

Praying into 2 verses this morning for our team:
1. “Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life” Pr. 4:23
I pray that we have the wisdom to guard our hearts well. As we pour out our hearts in worship before God and lead the body of Christ into His presence, we want purity of heart..a pure “spring” flowing forth.
2. “Worship The Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Ps. 100:2
I pray that gladness and thankfulness in our hearts be stirred. That we would remember what first led us to that place of wanting to worship him. That we would recount all that he’s done for us. May gladness and joyfulness resonate from our worship before Him.
2 Peter 1:3-11
v3 “As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receieve his own glory and goodness!
Lord, I thank you that we as a worship team would know you so much better. That we would learn the importance of intimacy with you. Thank you that YOU provide eveything we need in order to live a genuine godly life.
v11 “And God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
We are called to enter into his glorious presence and kingdom! May I and we as a united team make our first priority to enter into your courts with praise and declararion of your worth. May you get all the attention. Afterall we were all created to worship you!
Psa 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Psa 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Psa 95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Psa 95:4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
Psa 95:5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
Psa 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Psa 95:7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice,
Psa 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Psa 95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
Psa 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
Psa 95:11 Unto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
As I prayed for the worship team the Lord said “GOOD”. For the Lord our God has blessed us with the gift of music. As we freely give the gift back to Him in praise and worship.
Psa 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
